Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 - Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet community that is located in the West Island, which is an island in Montreal. Many people unfamiliar with the word frequently think that it's a separate island somewhere west of Montreal however, it's a part of the city that's west. West Island is home to every aspect of the city of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel's birthplace has been frequently cited, however her short time in the city wasn't. Brugel lived in Courtice close to Oshawa. The first goal she had was to become an expert dancer. But, a growing spurt caused her to outgrow her dance partners she was able to have. In an article published in The Toronto Star she admitted In heels I'm 6 feet 1 inch. When I grew out of my male counterparts, I gave up. Many former dancers turn into acting. In the instance of Brugel,, it was a suggestion from her high school teacher of drama. Her teacher encouraged her to try out as Anne for their school's annual production. She auditioned and was cast as Anne of Green Gables. When she was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she enrolled in York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. Since then, Brugel has been performing in over 60 plays, big and small. Most notable was when she landed the role of Rita on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel, the only Canadian on the Season 1 The Handmaid's Tale cast as well as appearing only on occasion, was the sole Canadian.
